Artist Interpretation  -

As I was praying earlier this week, I saw an image of the Lord holding a small red bird and immediately thought of the red cardinal that has come to our bedroom window every day for over two years. Tommy, the name we gave him, since he was officially now a part of our lives, came at a time in life when things were harder than normal. With the timing of his arrival on the scene and the significance of his appearance each day as I prayed, I knew in my spirit it was an important whisper from God, a reminder that He is with us through everything, we just have to look. And we have to know Him so deeply that when He does whisper, however it may look in each of our lives, that we will recognize that it’s Him. I recently heard a woman share that she had asked the Holy Spirit, “where are you?” The response she heard back was not one she was expecting but one that profoundly impacted her and has done the same for me…“where are you?” God wants to speak to us - to give us “great and hidden things that you have not known” (Jeremiah 33:3). He wants to use us to impact our world and He longs to guide our steps as we watch, listen and walk obediently toward that purpose. I believe He’s asking each of us that very question “where are you?” He hasn’t gone anywhere and He never will, the Holy Spirit lives inside every believer that has made Jesus Savior over their lives. Look all around - with eyes open, ears tuned to His voice and with great expectation, it’s time to answer with a resounding, here I am Lord.

-

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’” - Isaiah 6:8

-

“And the Lord came and stood, calling as at other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ And Samuel said, ‘Speak, for your servant hears.’” - 1 Samuel 3:10

-

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.” - Psalm 32:8-9

-

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” - Jeremiah 33:3

-

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” - John 14:16-17
