In order for a hot air balloon to fly, it has to be filled with heated air. Once the balloon is filled with “fire” and the weights have been dropped - the balloon is able soar into the sky. Hot air balloons move with the direction of the winds, smoothly lifting it to a position with a bird's-eye view. The Lord is desiring to help us climb into the “basket” with Him to take us higher. It takes trust, a child-like type faith, to climb into a basket made of woven strips of wicker, but when we’ve finally climbed in, our fire is lit and our weights have dropped, we begin to see from a different perspective. When we linger in the basket with the Lord, we get a glimpse of the Father’s heart and no longer have to fight to hold on...because He is the one carrying us. Guided by the winds of the Holy Spirit, it’s the place we get our direction. Linger in the basket with the Lord and allow Him to take you higher.
“I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.” - Psalm 81:6
“Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.” - Proverbs 8:34
