Artist Interpretation -
This image came this morning as I was praying and I knew it was supposed to be posted today because it’s a message that I believe is so important to the season we are in. I had been thanking the Lord, in prayer, for guiding me through life, revealing to me my path through the words written in Scripture. It was at that moment that He showed me the beautiful image of my sweet little turquoise butterfly being guided by the very breath that came from His lungs. Butterflies in flight are at the mercy of the winds around them. They will flap their wings to lift into the sky and then often will glide, using less energy, going where the wind takes them. The definition of glide is “to move smoothly and continuously along, as if without effort or resistance.” The Lord wants to breathe into our life, allowing us to glide on the winds of the Holy Spirit. When we listen to the Lord’s whispers that direct our path, we become like butterflies high in the sky, soaring on His winds. Our nature is to want to “flap”, exerting all our energy to take the path we think is ours. The Lord is asking us to simply trust, to let go and to glide. It uses a lot less energy and takes us exactly where He is asking us to go. Guiding our glide and declaring to us the “things that are to come.” 

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come” - John 16:13
