Artisit Interpretation -

This image from the Lord came this morning as I was praying and I knew He was asking me to share it today. Kneeling at the foot of the cross, Jesus gently laid the American flag across the little girl’s shoulders, giving a sense of comfort. To the right stood the cross, offering shade and protection. It was a beautiful picture and I sensed in my heart the Lord say it was a picture of the heartbeat of America. As I studied the drawing longer, however, my heart felt troubled. When I asked the Lord why, when everything in front of me looked so peaceful, I realized it was because the little girl was facing the wrong way. Sitting at the foot of the cross, we are covered and protected. But it’s when we turn our whole heart to the Lord to look Him full in the face, that we are truly set free. The words of the hymn written by Helen Howarth Lemmel, speak confirmation of the message for today, through a song written over 100 years ago...“O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’s light for a look at the Savior, and life more abundant and free! Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.” - 2 Chronicles 20:17
