Artist Interpretation -
When the Lord showed me the image of the arrow followed by another of a pair of hands holding a fish, I didn’t understand that they were connected at first. But as I prayed, the Lord revealed the message that was behind each action represented through the images...“love God, love others.” As we look up and our focus is solely on the Lord, we begin to know Him and to love Him - the first of the great commandments. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” The act of loving God impacts who we are - our character and our actions, thus impacting how we choose to love and serve those around us. The more our eyes are fixed upward on the Lord, the more we become like Him, imitators of God and walking as Jesus would and we live out the second commandment - “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Look up and serve. Love God, love others.
“'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?’ And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” - Matthew 22:36-39
